VET WORKFORCE PROJECT

The Vocational Education and Training (VET) workforce is essential in delivering the training needed to ensure a skilled workforce for today and the future. Yet the VET workforce itself faces significant challenges, including an ageing demographic, a limited talent pipeline, and the need to stay current with evolving industry demands. Ìý

At the Manufacturing Alliance, we are actively driving projects that address workforce issues in Australia’s manufacturing sector. These projects are crafted to deliver practical, targeted solutions that increase the number of skilled workers in line with demand, for the future. Ìý
Ìý
We are launching a project focused on developing and implementing innovative, industry-led strategies that tackle the specific challenges facing the VET workforce in manufacturing. As part of this initiative, the project will be engaging directly with industry stakeholders, training providers (TAFE, dual-sector, and private providers), and government agencies to gain deeper insights into the unique challenges the VET workforce encounters within manufacturing. The project will also be prioritising advanced manufacturing, clean energy, heavy manufacturing, and food processing. Ìý

From 2025, the project will collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop and roll out tailored, industry-led solutions.ÌýÌý Ìý
